Welcome to Blake Cottage in the Forest of Dean

Our holiday cottage is on the outskirts of Cinderford in the centre of the Royal Forest of Dean and has been awarded a 4 star Quality in Tourism. It is a perfect place for two and has been sympathetically developed with all the modern conveniences. We feel it retains the rustic charm befitting its age and history.

We are committed to sustainable tourism and have been awarded a silver grading with the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

Blake Cottage is on an elevated site with views over the ever-changing forest from both the sitting room and the bedroom. It is quiet and peaceful but has the advantage of being within walking distance of the local shop/off license (almost opposite), pubs and the town. Also many forest walks (dog friendly) and the cycle tracks can begin here without using a car. We have a lockable building outside for storing bikes, a canoe, boots etc. and this building also contains a utility/drying room, a toilet and access to a good sized garden with furniture and a gas BBQ. We would love to share Blake Cottage with you and can accommodate 2 guests and have a cot available on request. We provide a welcome tea tray and look forward to meeting you.

The Royal Forest of Dean is the largest oak forest in England and was the country's first National Forest Park. There is some magnificent scenery to enjoy in all seasons: Spring bluebells with vivid lime green young beech leaves, wild flowers, ponds and rivers to relax by in the Summer, wonderful Autumn colours with rustling leaves underfoot and stunning forms of the ancient trees in Winter, particularly when covered with frost or snow. An abundance of activities to suit all. Being flanked by the Wye Valley and the Severn Estuary, it is within easy travelling distance of The Cotswolds, Malvern Hills and the Welsh Mountains.
